Sega and ‘Two Point Studio’ has announced that the new funny, business simulation game. ‘Two Point Hospital‘, which will be released later in 2018. As announced on the 16th of January ,this game is a spiritual sequel to a 1997 hospital management sim game named “Theme Hospital” developed by ‘Bullfrog Productions’. The game will developed by ‘Two Point Studio’
and its making will also include some of the creators of ‘Theme Hospital‘ such as Mark Webley and Gary Carr.
The gameplay involves designing and managing a hospital and curing patients with funny bizzare ailments The game’s trailer shows a new disease “light-headedness”,the initial symptom of patient’s head turning into a lightbulb which shows the still existing humour of Bullfrog Productions. The graphics from the gameplay screenshots was seen as similar to the original game with some updates.
The game trailer also shows about certain features like the ‘Hospital Pass’ which will give the fans of the game a chance to access exciting news concerning Two Point Hospital before anyone else as well as the gift of an exclusive in game item once the game launches. Management Simulators genre involving a hospital is a very rare and different idea and hence will have a benefit of being unique for the consumers as the developers and publishers seem to be pretty confident about it.
When asked about the ‘2.0’ version of the existing game, Carr, the co-founder, gave his their experiences saying “Actually, I’m going to be really honest here. Mark hated the idea of the 2.0 thing. He thought I was just being very negative and bitter and twisted. He really liked the idea of a world, a bit like Twin Peaks, creating a physical element to the county, like a landmark. So we’ve evolved it from possibly a little bit of cynicism into something more positive.”
Carr also admitted that they tried their best, to not put any real illness in the game, that’s the touchstone for their game, I presume to keep it humorous and fun for everyone. As the concept of using humour is a very good way of confronting hospitals environment, lets hope that the game lives up to the fans expectations and doesn’t turn out to be a disappointment.
