Ever since the first game of the Assassin’s Creed series released in 2007, the franchise has grown into being an entity that reigns across all platforms of entertainment. The series has since transcended into numerous other ventures such as novels, comic books, mobile games and even a movie! One of the numerous games in the Assassin’s Creed series was 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Rogue, and Ubisoft just announced something massive related to the game.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be getting a remaster, Ubisoft announced via an announcement trailer on Youtube. The game hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2014 and was developed by Ubisoft Sofia and will be remastered for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by them as well.
Back in 2014 when the action adventure open world game was launched initially, it recieved generally favorable reviews from the critics as well as the community. Assasin’s Creed Rogue was lauded for being a game that perfectly demonstrated the legibility of an 18th century North American setting.
The game which takes place during the Seven Years’ War(a war fought between almost every european power of the late 18th century) follows Shay Patrick Cormac as he joins the Colonial Assassin’s Brotherhood as a young member and his dark and unsettling journey in which he ultimately begins to perceive the Assassin’s Brotherhood as a threat and begins to eliminate them.
The gameplay follows an open world action adventure setting with numerous stealth elements included(we are talking about Assassin’s Creed after all). The game also follows an upgrade system for Shay Cormac’s ship ‘Morrigan’ as the game progresses.
Numerous changes to the hand to hand combat were made and a player will now be able to counterattack if they time it correctly. The game also introduced an air rifle which can kill rivals from a consierable distance. This gun may also be used to launch grenades.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered will be inclusive of all Downloadable Content that was released for the game following it’s initial release. The remaster will also include the “Master Templar” aand “Explorer” packs, each with their own set of exclusive weapons, outfits and other items.
The remastered game will also be able to run at 4k on the Xbox One X and the PlayStation 4 Pro and will release on the 20th of March 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and their higher end counterparts that are mentioned above.
