As many of you know, Assassin’s Creed Origins is about to get its first DLC expansion, which we have all been waiting for, named “The Hidden Ones”. The expansion just not includes several hours of new story line, but also new events, items and side quests. Ubisoft has confirmed that the date of release for this expansion would be January 23rd for platforms, PS4, PC and Xbox One.
The Hidden Ones is mostly focused and centered around the story and growth of the Brotherhood in the game. The game’s plot takes place four years after the main game that took place in Sinai, where players will have to deal with an invasive Roman force. It was also mentioned that the expansion increases the cap level to 45, from a general cap level of 40, and introduces two new epic weapons and mounts. They also introduce a new outfit and other multiple weapons to this expansion. For all season pass owners, the game is downloadable for free at no extra cost. For people without a subscription, would have to pay $10 for the expansion pack.
Though the expansion is set to be released on 23rd of January, it was reported that some Xbox One players have had access to the new content of the pack after the game was patched overnight. A post was posted by a one of the company’s managers on their forums later that day by confirming the mix-up that took place and how certain Xbox One players had somehow already downloaded the DLC not officially released yet and were in Sinai. “The Hidden Ones expansion was unintentionally made available on Xbox One earlier today for some players before the January 23 release date,This happened due to a misconfiguration of our in-game store and has been corrected.” was what was mentioned in the post posted by Dominik Voigt, Ubisoft manager.
The post went on to say that the people who have gained access to the DLC expansion can keep them as they won’t be removed, ending on the note of asking players who have the new content to keep the spoilers to themselves for the next one week. But as the players explore the new DLC area, spoilers do somehow see the light of day, which leaves the people who haven’t received the update yet, with the challenge of avoiding spoilers.
Ubisoft’s latest response to the whole mix-up is mentioned below.
“Earlier today, The Hidden Ones DLC was unintentionally made available early for some Xbox One players. We have removed the DLC from the game store, however players who already downloaded the DLC are still able to play it. These players will now be known as “The Lucky Ones.” The Hidden Ones DLC will be available for all season pass owners or can be purchased separately for $9.99 on January 23rd.”
Ubisoft has also recently revealed some more information about its second DLC for Origins, named, The Curse of Pharaohs, which will be released on the 6th of March this year.
