Sledgehammer Games and Activision announced a new event for their massive first person shooter Call of Duty World War II on the 21st of January 2018. The event is titled “The Resistance” and will run through January 23rd till February 27th. The developers also released a trailer to accompany the announcement and it can be seen below.
“The Resistance” event will be adding new features to the game which will be completely free to play by all players. The most prominent of these features is probably the inclusion of a brand new Division called The Resistance.
This division comprises of civilians who take up arms against the Germans. This division will also include exclusives like the new “Tactical Knife” skill, the ability to scramble enemy maps and new weapons like a 9mm SAP pistol.
Apart from a new division, the event will also feature numerous goodies for the players like 2XP and 2X Weapon XP in all modes, drops with the items from the Resistance Event if a player finished objectives, a weekly free Resistance Supply Drop at the headquarters amongst a host of other things.
The event will also include new outfits taken from various real European resistance divisions. Players can also complete objectives to earn special Resistance themed weapons.
The event will also add game modes namely Demolition and Prop Hunt. In the Demolition game mode, the player must plant a bomb in enemy territory and defend it from numerous player re spawns. The Prop Hunt game mode on the other hand will let players on one team disguise themselves as an item on the battlefield and the players on the other team must track them down.
The Call of Duty: World War II “The Resistance” event is set to release for all players of the game, free of cost on the 23rd of January. The event will last until the 27th of February, a total of 5 weeks.
