Frankfurt based game developers Crytek announced back in November 2017 that they will be holding an alpha testing for their upcoming multiplayer co-op supernatural shooting title Hunt: Showdown. Keeping true to their promise, the developers announced on 19th of January that the game’s alpha testing will commence late January.
Hunt: Showdown has been on the shelf for quite a long time and after being unheard of for a while since it’s announcement in 2014, the game resurfaced last year and during the E3 2017 demo, garnered a lot of attention from the gaming community.
The game features a simple mechanic, two teams of players (which may include four to ten players at a time), are matched up against a monster with the aim of killing it and claiming a reward in the form of a bounty. However, the game also includes a PvP aspect since only one player may come out alive with the bounty.
According to Crytek, Hunt: Showdown’s alpha will lay emphasis on analysing the “gameplay, balance, and back end functionality’ and the who gets to be a part of the alpha testing process will be determined randomly from a list of all the people who sign up.
No information regarding the number of people required for alpha testing or any other form or method of selecting the alpha testers was revealed. The testing for the game’s alpha will be done on Steam for Windows PC.
It is to be expected that the developers might reveal a few more details about the game’s release date and availability once the alpha testing is done. The alpha of Hunt: Showdown commences on the 31st of January and interested players may sign up at www.huntshowdown.com
Hunt Showdown is expected to release for the Play Station 4, Xbox One and Windows PC sometime late this year if not next year.
