Metal Gear Survive will be releasing in the US on 20th of February 2018, and a couple of days later in Europe on 22nd February, on platforms PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Metal Gear Survive is a change from your typical variety Metal Gear game. Done with previous gameplay style showed in series by creator Hideo Kojima, this is the first game of the series released by Konami after his leaving. For a change of pace for everyone, this is a cooperative action-adventure game where a team of players come together to fight a horde of zombies. The single player gameplay trailer can be found below.
But it wouldn’t be that big of a surprise for the players, if they consider the fact that Metal Gear series have always had a touch of supernatural elements to their games. Although the whole game this time is centered around the supernatural of it all.
The game’s features haven’t come to an end yet, it supports four-player online co-op. With this the game will also be introducing new armor and weapons to combat characters and lethal environment as well. Spears and crossbows are examples to this. Though the game has its variety, people shouldn’t worry about the game going way off course from the original series, traditional stealth is still in play.
Tomotada Tashiro, the European President for Konami Digital Entertainment commented that “Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements, but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.”
The game was previewed at E3 last year and many people didn’t support the new turn the series have taken, hoping that Konami has fixed the issues that they had experienced.
There will also be an online, co-op beta happening from the 18th of January to the 21st January this year, available on PS4 and Xbox One.
