Prise de Tahure, a map in the “They Shall Not Pass” expansion of the 2016 first person shooter title Battlefield 1, will now be available for free for all the players of the game as opposed to the premium pass holders and the players who purchased the “They Shall Not Pass” expansion which was released way back on the 14th of March 2017.
Battlefield 1 was developed by Electronic Arts (EA) and DICE and since it’s release in 2016 has managed to keep players interested in the game thanks to it’s constant updates and new features being added to the game on a regular basis.
The Prise de Tahure map showcases the story of French and German troops trying to hold on to captured territory in the Tahure region and is set in the year 1917. The map is a night map and all the events in the map take place just before the arrival of Dawn.
The urban setting is also that many players appreciated in the map. There are shrinking alleys and tall buildings in this relatively small map and that makes it ideal for close combat situations.
The map limits the heavy vehicles that may be used by players to one for each team which goes in tandem with the urban setting of the map.
This free availability of an exclusive map is not the only one that DICE has in mind however. The event will last until the 22nd of January and the developers will be giving all players free access to the “They Shall Not Pass” expansion pack as well as “In The Name of Tsar” expansion pack.
Electronic Arts and NICE also announced that they will be revealing information about Battlefield 1’s fourth and final DLC “Apocalypse” soon. The second half of the game’s latest DLC, “Turning Tides” will also be made available this month.
Battlefield 1 is available to play on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows.
