Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced via a press release on their website that President and CEO Andrew House will be stepping down from the post after being responsible for the organization since 2011. Deputy president John Kodera will be taking his place. House will remain chairman until the end of the year.
House is most widely known for strategizing the launch of the PS4. The PS4 outsold the Xbox One by more than three to one with 78 million units expected to sell by the end of this fiscal year.
House was involved in the launch of the original PlayStation console and has been with Sony for 27 long years. He was also involved on the PlayStation VR headset. In a statement, House said, “PlayStation has been a huge part of my life for more than 20 years but with the business having achieved record-breaking success, now seemed to be the right time for me to pursue new challenges,”
