On October 9, the PlayStation blog announced in a post, the inclusion of Darth Vader in the upcoming EA title, Star Wars: Battlefront II. The game features storylines across all three eras of the Star Wars franchise and Vader plays the role of the villain for the second era. He is a playable character in the game and retains all his classic abilities and weapons, ranging from the classic red lightsaber and force choke to new attacks like the lightsaber throw that can rip through enemies before returning to his hands.
Additionally Vader will keep getting stronger throughout the duration of the battle and his hits will deal more damage and he will become harder to take down.
All of this was explained by Sony in their blog post.
Anger fuels the dark side of the Force, and Vader’s rage is nearly boundless. By drawing from his potent fury, Vader can periodically increase both his durability and his damage output, becoming stronger as a battle unfolds. Vader is always dangerous, but when he calls upon his anger, he is nearly unstoppable.
Vader can also attack at range with his lightsaber with a powerful throw, sending the red blade of energy scything through enemy ranks and then returning it to his hand. This allows him to make potent strikes at a distance.
And of course, Darth Vader wields his iconic Force choke, punishing his enemies with a telekinetic attack that lifts them off the ground as it weakens them. The crushing grip of the Sith Lord holds victims in the air, then drops his enemies at a place of his choosing (like a nearby cliff).
Star Wars: Battlefron II hits shelves on the 17th of November and will be available For Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows.
